The University of Liverpool Singapore Society is an independent and an autonomous body. It is a registered society under the Guild of Students of the University of Liverpool. We have mutually beneficial working relationships with the British Council Singapore and International Recruitment and Relations Office (IRRO) of the University and its representatives in Singapore, and it is the focal point of all students who have chosen to study in Liverpool.

The Society was founded by Ms Yolanda Tan, its founding President. Ms Tan was a student here at the University of Liverpool. It is through her initiativeness and her determination that many other fellow Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans alike have benefitted from the Singapore Society in one way or another.

Subsequent Presidents which had led the Society were Ms Juliana Kho, Mr Chua Shangli, Mr John Lim, Mr Benjamin Yam, Mr Liu Feng Hao and Mr Andy Lim. The current President is Mr Haqeem Nasser.

The Singapore Society endeavours to provide support and welfare to all new students coming to Liverpool for an education. Section 2.3 of The Constitution states that the Singapore Society is "To provide essential support and welfare for students coming to study in Liverpool".

Indeed, many of the Society's activities and decisions are decided upon with this objective in consideration.

The Singapore Society is one which is growing and maturing and this is reflected in the increasing number of members and many of whom are of other nationalities.
